Champagne Colin is one of my most exciting recent discoveries in Champagne.
Based in the famous village of Vertus, their wines represent to me purity of focus. They are so amazingly elegant and well made it is easy to miss unless you really pay attention.
The Colin Family has been in Champagne for seven generations and decided in 1995 to become an independent grower making their own Champagne rather than selling grapes to a big house or co-op. You and I can be grateful they did. Try these mesmerizing Champagnes you will not be sorry.
Pale gold color with a fine bead.
On the nose: delicate almond blossom marzipan, brioche, butter, and lemon curd.
On the palate: marzipan, brioche, butter, pear lemon curd, orange, smoke, and crushed seashell. Like all of the Colin wines, pretty, feminine, delicate and balanced, they will put you in a trance. Colin Champagnes continue to offer value and class far beyond the price point.
Pair with Fish, and shellfish or a nice glass. My favorites include Prawns, brown butter seared scallops and crab.
