Rich, dense, mid purple. The fruit leaps out of the nose. There is an utterly gorgeous concentration of summer fruits and flowers without the burned tinge. The quality of the fruit continues on the palate, with some useful tannins to retain the balance and a light acidity. Very long finish. This is showing very well. Once we had tasted the Cros Parantoux as well, Jean-Nicolas asked me which I preferred. My heart selected the Brûlées.

Subtle but discernible wood can be found on the pretty and perfumed aromas of sandalwood, exotic tea, essence of black currant, plum and a similar hint of star anise. There is excellent mid-palate density thanks to the abundant dry extract that buffers the firmer tannins shaping the mineral-driven, robust and powerful finish. This beautifully balanced effort is also terrific with outstanding development potential.
