It is extremely difficult for a négociant to only source organic grapes.
The Brets’ domaine, La Soufrandière, has been certified biodynamic since its early days. For the wines made from purchased grapes, not only have the brothers been unimpeachably transparent as to what was organic/biodynamic or not, but, like the menu in a farm to table restaurant, they have always, and without solicitation, named the farmer.
Their honesty and extremely high standards have led the brothers to make most of their negociant wines from verifiably organic fruit for quite a few years (the proportion was 80% organic in 2018.)
And we are very proud to announce that as of the 2019 vintage, all the fruit for every Bret Brothers wine is now either certified organic or in the process of certification.
